Wednesday Women’s Wellness with Dr. Denise Johnson

Communication and Culture, LLC (CCLLC) is launching a video series to educate girls. Wednesday Women’s Wellness will provide weekly insights into the female anatomy and empower girls to take charge of their health and well-being.

At the helm of this empowering initiative is Denise Johnson, MD, FACOG, FACHE, a distinguished Healthy Equity Consultant and former Physician General and Acting Secretary of State for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Dr. Johnson, an OB/GYN physician with a wealth of experience, is passionate about addressing the knowledge deficit surrounding women’s health. Her background, with a unique blend of medical expertise and advocacy, positions her as an authority on women’s health. Dr. Johnson's commitment to empowering girls through education is evident in her approach to the series.

“Many young girls and women lack basic knowledge about female anatomy,” states Dr. Johnson. “This knowledge deficit can have profound implications for their overall health and well-being.” Women’s health has been identified as a priority area for CCLLC, an organization committed to advancing health equity by partnering with advocates and organizations.

Wednesday Women’s Wellness is not only designed to educate girls, but also provides a framework for parents, health education teachers, and other adults to have important conversations with the girls in their lives. The weekly journey is meticulously crafted to empower girls, providing them with insightful tips for their well-being. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of their bodies and promote self-care, ultimately contributing to enhanced body awareness and overall health.

The series kicks off on Wednesday, January 3, with a focus on foundational topics essential for every girl’s understanding of her body. The first four weeks will delve into (1) Anatomy, (2) Menstrual Education, (3) Menarche, and (4) the crucial distinction between PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) and PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).

Wednesday Women’s Wellness, guided by the expertise of Dr. Denise Johnson, represents a significant step towards bridging the knowledge gap in women’s health. “Empowering girls through education is not just a goal; it’s a responsibility we owe to the future generation of strong, informed women," Dr. Johnson said.
